Doctoral Programs
Students need fifty (50) hours in addition to the Masters requirements.
A Doctor of Theology (Th.D.) differs from the Doctor of Biblical Studies
(Bs.D.) in that 15 hours of pastoral counseling courses is required.
Dissertations are required in both Ph.D. programs.
All Doctoral programs are customized with the help of the Student.
We mean by this that each Doctoral Candidate is different and
his/her program must be established with an advisor. All fees paid
and credits for any Doctorate can be applied at any time in the
future to other ITS Doctoral programs.
The Biblical Studies Doctorate (Bs.D.) requires an additional fifty
(50) hours above the Masters.

Candidates for the Ph.D. in Biblical Studies are required to complete
a dissertation (see dissertation guidelines) on
a Biblical topic of their choice.
All candidates must have the core ITS prerequisites met.
The basic requirements for the Ph.D. in Biblical Studies must be met.
However, this degree is more restricted due to the number and kind of
courses needed for Professional Certification and License.
All credits are transferred to NCCA
for the Licensed Clinical Pastoral
Counselor, Advance Certification. Additional NCCA processing fees
are involved and a "mentor" process must be completed. In addition,
the degree candidate must complete a total of 24 hours of counseling
credits.
